BAUX® 3D Acoustic Wood Tiles are an environment-friendly, recyclable material made from sustainably harvested wood and water and naturally dyed with wheat bran. The natural components together provide many functional characteristics, with designs inspired by the lines and creases of origami.

Basic Material

BAUX® 3D Acoustic Pulp Panels are 100% bio-based, recyclable material made from sustainably wood, water, wheat bran, and a binder made from potato starch, plant-derived wax, and citrus peels.


The moisture-resistant material evens out air humidity by absorbing moisture from or emitting moisture to the ambient air. This contributes to a pleasant indoor climate which is good for both comfort and health. The high pH value also discourages mould and the material is not affected by rot.


BAUX® Acoustic Pulp Panels stores heat from the ambient air and emits it when the air temperature falls. This contributes to lower energy costs, reduced environmental impact and a stable and comfortable climate indoors.


The irregular 3D shaped surface reduces reflection of sound and makes BAUX® Acoustic Pulp a good sound absorber. The material dampens noise and contributes to restful acoustics in residential buildings, industrial premises and public spaces, with an NRC of 0.35.


BAUX® Acoustic Pulp is preliminarily D-classed according to EN 13823. It was built on the knowledge of grass roots' built in natural fire protection and mechanisms.


Measurements show that emissions from BAUX® Acoustic Pulp are extremely low. The strong surface can cope with vacuum cleaning, and use of the product in restaurants and other sensitive environments show that the boards do not emit dust or particles.
